Drawing the Moldings & Tuscan Order
The Chicago-Midwest Chapter of the ICAA is pleased to present "Drawing the Moldings & Tuscan Order". This course introduces the vocabulary of classical architecture through freehand drawing. Our class will begin with an overview of the five canonical orders and the essential moldings that compromise classical architecture. Participants will then learn to lay out the Tuscan column, entablature and pediment as described by Vignola, a Renaissance architect. The class will culminate in the drawing of a Tuscan temple Facade.
